Custom Compound Expanded PTFE Boiler Door Gaskets. Unlike conventional boiler door gaskets with limited chemical compatibility these expanded ptfe gaskets have a very wide chemical compatibility range as well as great temperature resistance. Added to this is an exceptional ability to seal over scored or uneven surfaces and a resistance to cold flow unlike traditional ptfe. They are dimensionally stable and very easy to install and remove when changing out. These are custom cut on our CNC machine so custom sizes are available upon request, all are 1/4" (6mm) thick. They should have a 50% or more compression when sealing in place (for instance this 6mm gasket will be compressed to 3mm in place when the boiler door is tightened).

Application  Boiler Door Gaskets

  • What is an Expanded PTFE Boiler Door Gasket?

An Expanded PTFE Boiler Door Gasket is a gasket that is designed to seal a boiler door, boiler inspection hatch or a boiler manhole and is made from our specifically developed custom compound of expanded ptfe.

  • How does a Door Gasket work on a Boiler?

The gasket forms a seal between the door/hatch and the surface of the boiler. As it is made from expanded PTFE it can withstand high temperature, pressure and a wide PH range making it the perfect candidate for this application. It is also very malleable and does not have any cold flow allowing it to seal over rougher surfaces than other rubber types.

  • How long will my Boiler Door Gasket last?

These are quite often replaced on a service interval even though the gasket itself is fine. We have these which are in perfect working order years after installation which is unheard of with other types of boiler door gaskets especially on what would typically be trouble boilers where other gaskets are failing.

  • How do I install a Boiler Door Gasket?

Boiler technicians have their own ways of installing boiler door gaskets however it is best to have a clean surface on both mating surfaces and to tighten the door or inspection hatch evenly (doing one side without the other can pull the gasket off center). Try not to overtighten the gasket as it is a softer compound when compared to other gaskets such as spiral wounds or harder rubber compounds. This should achieve a trouble free operation.

  • What are typical uses of an Expanded PTFE Boiler Door Gasket?

These are used for sealing gaskets on boiler doors, inspection hatches and manholes on boilers.

  • Why are our Boiler Door Gaskets better than others?

This is due to the number of different compounds we tested before we found the best one. This took over three years of testing. The result is a boiler door gasket which lasts longer, fits tighter and gives you the best result.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.
