  • What is a Boiler Level Gauge?

A boiler level gauge is a level gauge that shows the water level in a boiler. The gauge will show the water level and above that will be steam. The gauge can be isolated and drained to ensure it is free from contaminants and working properly. There are various types of boiler level gauges and most commonly center around three categories; Reflex, transparent and round borosilicate glass.

  • How does a Boiler Level Gauge work?

The boiler level gauge has a bottom mount and top mount which are both connected to the boiler. This will allow the water level in the boiler to be shown in the gauge. As the water level changes in the boiler this is reflected in the gauge. The gauge can also be isolated from the boiler and drained to ensure it is still working properly.

  • How long will my Boiler Level Gauge last?

This depends upon the usage case of your level gauge, the quality of your boiler feed water and the environment it operates in. Usually boiler services are conducted at least quarterly and the gauge mount may be serviced at these intervals. The glass will perish over time so will need to be monitored for replacement as well.

  • How do I install a Boiler Level Gauge?

The gauge mount will be installed at your vessel centers on your boiler. From here a reflex, transparent or borosilicate glass will be installed to connect the top and bottom mounts. The bottom mount will have a drain which will face down to allow draining of the gauge. There are various different connection types including threaded and flanged so this will need to be determined prior to installation.

  • What are typical uses of a Boiler Level Gauge?

Just about all boilers will have a level gauge to indicate the water level. The type and size of the gauge mount will depend upon pressure, temperature and boiler design.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all products leave our warehouse tested (full material and testing certificates are available) and inspected so there are rarely any issues. Also once your valve is in and operating it will most likely continue to do so for a very long time.
