  • What are Stainless Steel Protector Plates?

These boiler gauge protector plates form the top and bottom parts to create a protector for sight glasses (mainly on boilers).

  • How do Top & Bottom Protector Plates work?

M5 Threaded engineers rod (booker rod) is used to create the desired length of the sight glass protector. Polycarbonate or glass plates are then inserted and held into place by recesses in the top and bottom plates. This assembled unit will then be placed over the boiler gauge mounts on the side of a boiler to protect the sight glass from damage.

  • How long will my Protetor Plates Last?

These plates will usually last a very long time. There is no reason this should not last the life of the boiler or more.

  • How do I install Top and Bottom Protector Plates?

M5 threaded rod and polycarbonate (or glass or acrylic) will need to be cut to size and inserted in between the top and bottom plates. The top nut will then go onto the threaded rod to hold the assembly together. From here it can be inserted onto the gauge mounts on the side of the boiler.

  • What are typical uses of Protector Plates?

These are used to make sight glass protectors.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all protector plates leave our warehouse tested (full material and testing certificates to API598 are available) and inspected so there are rarely any issues.
